Ethan Karas is a director, projection designer, and theatremaker currently based in NYC. Currently, you can find Ethan at Playwrights Horizons as the Artistic/Literary Fellow for the 2025/26 season.

As a director, his recent projects include everything from intimate performance art pieces such as The Future Show to large-scale musicals such as BEOWULF: A Thousand Years of Baggage. As an assistant, Ethan has been privileged to work for directors such as Amanda Dehnert, Braden Abraham, and Mikael Burke.

As a projection designer, Ethan has created for operas, nightclubs, and everything in between. He has assisted for companies and designers such as Elevator Repair Service, Theatre in Quarantine, Jesse Garrison, Mike Tutaj, Matthew Deinhart, and Nora Marlow Smith.
